An Introduction

The Riley Professional Reading Group will serve as a forum for discussion about American and Coalition operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, counterinsurgency (COIN) theory, and the future of the Long War. Through readings and discussion, the group will seek to gain a better understanding of warfare in a globalized, interconnected, post-9/11 world, and how policymakers and the public should think about and deal with this new way of war.
